I got a new heart--Michael P. Canmore, Alberta

At the end of October, 2015 I returned home in Canmore after a two-month lecture tour in SE Asia. I immediately collapsed and was rushed to the hospital unconscious.  I remained unconscious and on life support for four days and was given only a 20% chance to survive.  I had contracted double pneumonia, suffered a mild heart attack and had gone into a diabetic coma.

After 4 days, I woke up and had survived.  I now began the long road to recovery.  The doctors said I was now suffering from congestive heart failure which resulted in a general lack of vitality, weakness of movement, persistent coughing, bloating due to the heart’s inability to pump out the liquids, and inability to walk.  Under all sorts of medication, I still felt miserable and was making very little progress recovering after six months.   In fact, in many ways I felt more miserable than when I was in the hospital.   It became apparent to me that the western medical protocol practiced by the doctors would not cure me, but only made me feel sicker.

On the urgings of friends and family members, I sought out a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  It was like searching for a needle in a haystack on the internet, but I finally narrowed the choice down to two TCM practitioners in Calgary.  I based my choice on their training profile in China.   I first went to see Dr. Han.  He said he needed three months to help me solve my health problems through acupuncture and herbal remedies.  I never got to see the second practitioner on my list because after my first treatment with Dr. Han, I knew intuitively that I had chosen the right doctor.

From May through August, Dr. Han administered two acupuncture sessions per week and mixed special herbal teas for me to drink daily.  The treatment was designed to restore my QI which had been severely depleted during the illness. 

The result of this treatment has been next to miraculous.   A dying man has come alive again! Today, the congestive heart failure condition is gone.  I can now climb up and down steps with ease and carry out normal household and business activities.  The coughing stopped after about one month into the treatment, which was a relief after coughing for seven months.  The bloating/water accumulation in the body and especially the lungs has gone, and I can truly say that I am back to normal or better before I got sick.

For this restoration of my health, I am truly grateful to Dr. Han, whose skill and knowledge have proven to be like no other TCM or western medical doctor!
