Meet Dr. Han

Dr. Fei Wang

Massage Therapist

Registered Social Worker

The Background of Dr. Zhaocheng Han:

Dr.  Han has a Master's degree in Acupuncture and Therapeutic Massage from Shandong University of TCM. (Only 3-5  students were qualified each year before 2005)

From 2000 to 2008, Dr. Han was a clinical instructor to undergraduate students in the acupuncture program at Shandong University of TCM (SUTCM), many of whom were international students. In 2008, he began to advise Masters students as well.  He also represented SUTCM at the 5th International Congress on Acupuncture in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2002 and Santiago, Chile in 2004 where he lectured on acupuncture for several weeks.

Dr. Han was fortunate to have followed several Masters of TCM in China including Zhang Deng Bu (specialist in treating stroke), Zhang Shi Jie (famous for needling only one point), Jiao Shu De (specialist in herbalist), and Hu Hai Ya (Taoist style acupuncture).

In 2008, Dr. Han was given, by committee, a provincial award of position of Head Doctor at Shandong University of TCM.

Later that year, Dr. Han was invited to emigrate to Winnipeg, Canada by invitation of the Manitoba branch of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC).  He assisted them in treating less common diseases and to help broaden the range of the treatment capabilities by educating local practitioners.   During his stay in Winnipeg, he helped pass on an asthma treatment that was long established in China, tailoring it to meet the needs of Canadian patients.  This treatment method was written about by the Winnipeg Free Press  and all patients involved reported improvement in their symptoms one year later.

Most recently, Dr. Han moved to Calgary in 2010 in order to improve his clinical experience and to share his knowledge through teaching. His focus is on teaching students to determine an accurate diagnosis.

Dr. Han's personal interests include badminton, ping pong, qi gong, taoist lifestyle, confucianism, buddhism, and theology.  He is interested in these things because they all contribute to the development of his knowledge and skill at TCM.   The knowledge of Chinese theology helps a TCM practitioner to be able to treat both physical as well as mental disease.
