Our New Family Doctor--- Sophie W,  Calgary, AB

We were lucky to hear of Dr. Han from a friend. The first time we experienced his amazing treatment was for my son’s sore throat. He gets sore throats often and usually takes at least a week to recover with antibiotics. This time, I took him to see Dr. Han who just pricked his index finger (not painful at all) and squeezed a couple of drops of blood out, and then his throat was fine the next day!

The second visit was for my son’s low back pain.  Just by palpating, Dr. Han told us that the injury was there for at least two years. It was unbelievable! My son hurt his tailbone playing basketball 2 years ago and our family doctor said that the x-ray shows the injury, but offered no treatment.  I could not believe that just by touching him Dr. Han could detect the old injury even after 2 years and after three treatments the pain was gone!

Then a few days ago, my son’s left ear got infected from swim training every day.  It was really painful and swollen to the point that he could not even open his mouth. Our family doctor prescribed 10 days of antibiotics, but my son didn't want to take them and insisted upon seeing Dr. Han again.  Dr. Han did some acupuncture around the ear and used a moxibustion stick to “clear the fire,” as he said, from my son's ear.  Thirty minutes later, he could open his mouth and after two more treatments, he was able to start swimming again.

My son’s ambition is to study medicine at Harvard (influenced by his father who is an MD), but now he is very interested in also studying Traditional Chinese Medicine so that he can also help patients like Dr. Han.
