My friends love the sauna, steam room or hot yoga, but why do I feel terrible when I do it?

These activites that make you hot and sweaty are not for everyone and in fact, can damage some people.  They cause people to sweat profusely and the loss of sweat goes hand in hand with the loss of Qi.  The loss of too much Qi will make you tired.  The loss of excessive sweat can also make you feel dry afterward, especially so for anyone who is already chronically thirsty, has dry eyes, dry skin, tires easily, or is going through menopause.  If you do enjoy these activities, be sure to rest or nap before you drive home in order to allow time for the Qi to recover and to allow the body to cool so that the pores close before going outside into the cold weather.
