Acupuncture is especially good for treating many acute conditions like stroke, allergies, and high fever.

Many people think that acupuncture is only effective for treating chronic conditions, but this is actually not correct.

Stroke is a devastating condition and can drastically and suddenly change a person's quality of life. In China, it is common knowledge that when a person has a stroke they get acupuncture as soon as possible and have treatment every day until improvement has stabilized.   Hopefully,  as knowledge of TCM spreads throughout the Western world, everyone will know to get acupuncture immediately after a stroke occurs.  The sooner the person can get treatment, the better their recovery will be.

Acupuncture can also be used to treat severe reactions to mosquito bites.  The needle can be used to let the mosquito allergen out and relieve the pain and discomfort of the bite much sooner.

In China, acupuncture is commonly used to quickly revive a person from unconsciousness or from coma.   It is also effective to bring down a high fever.  Traditional Chinese herbal medicine may also be used if the fever is especially high.
